The past couple of weeks have been exciting around the Shamy household. Â Two Fridays ago, while volunteering at the Morgan County Humane Shelter, we found 2 “furrever” friends. Â I volunteer at the shelter taking the dogs out for a walk and giving them some much-needed love as they await adoption. Â Shane and I have been talking about getting a dog since moving out to the country. Â Our new life out here begs for a dog.
While volunteering we did not expect to find “the one” but we did or rather she found us. Â She stole our hearts almost instantly. Introducing Josie the 8 month old boxer, she is truly a sweetie. Â We have been busy helping her adjust to her new home and us. Â No problem, she fit right in within a day. Â She listens very well and is well-behaved, especially for her age. Â Love her already!
Our other acquisition came along on the same day. Â Living in the country has presented some challenges, one of them being critters, specifically mice! Â Shane has a nice big pole barn for his shop and the mice have moved in. Â After talking to the shelter we found out they have a “barn cat” program. Â Cats that are perfectly suited for living in barns and chasing the mice away. Â Enter Sir Purrs a Lot (he lives up to his name). Â Since his arrival the mice are gone. Â Nice job Sir Purrs.
An added bonus, both cat and dog get along famously. Â In fact, better than could have been expected.
“This stick is so interesting.” Â “Dogs are so weird.”

Spoiled? Â Who me?
A quick bath before sunset.
Did I mention she makes an excellent trail dog? Â She has proven herself when it comes to finding trails.
Ready for yoga! Â It’s time to buy another yoga mat.
Now that everyone seems to have settled in quite nicely I plan to resume regular blog posts.
