Weekly Photo Challenge – Today was a good day

For this week’s photo challenge, instead of sharing a fabulous travel day, I have opted to share a typical day.  Saving those awesome travel days for a Travel Thursday post.  So why have I chosen to share a typical day?  I have to admit my day-to-day is pretty awesome.  I do not say this to brag or rub it in.  I say it because I live a no frills kind of life.  I am very content and happy with my simple life in the country, surrounded by nature.  This post is more of a glimpse into my everyday, not a listing of my daily routine (that would be boring).  I present to you “Today was a good day”.

August 15, 2015 Trees

I love practicing yoga & meditation outdoors, whenever possible.  While lying supine this is my view.  It is quite serene.

Part of my job as a photographer is to practice my art.  Lucky for me, I am surrounded by tons of interesting subjects.

August 22, 2015 Flowers

It seems every time I go for a hike, I find a new colorful wildflower blooming.

August 22, 2015 Flowers

Just discovered this beautiful red flower the other day.   Stark contrast to all of the lush green surrounding it.

July 15, 2015 Mushrooms

I found this one day while hiking.  I chose the close-up shoot, but this fungi was as big as a large stump.

June 30, 2015 Nature

This is part of the reason I enjoy staying at home more.  We are truly immersed in nature out here.

August 15, 2015 book

One of my favorite things to do, reading a great book in the hammock.  What a perfect fit, reading this book while surrounded by nature.

August 17, 2015 Fog

Not my best photo, but this was a nice ending to a good day.  This particular view is looking back onto our property (the trees beyond the fog).

May 02, 2015 Josie

Josie, our boxer, sleeping in one of our chairs after a good day of hiking.

So there you have it, nothing exciting, but it is my idea of “today was a good day”!
