WPC – It’s Not This Time of Year Without…

Notebook

A notebook?  I know strange choice for the Weekly Photo Challenge.
We are really not into the holiday stuff, no tree, no shopping, no presents.  It’s not for me.  However, I do enjoy spending time with friends & family, that is the part I would keep about the holidays and discard the rest.

This time of year is my reflective time. Always has been. I love to think back over the year and look ahead to the new year.

At the beginning of 2016 I decided to start a notebook of memories, thoughts, goals, and the fun things we have done.  At the end of each month I dedicated a page to a short “recap” of the month.  At the end of December, I plan to write up one big recap of the year.  It is so easy to forget all of the things that have happened over the course of a year and I look forward to using my notebook to reflect on 2016.

So, “It’s not this time of year without my notebook & reflection of the past & coming year.

May you have gratitude for 2016 & enjoy the holiday season.

  1. Good for you. I’ve tried journaling but always abandon it fairly quickly. An interesting take on the challenge!

    1. Thanks Tina. After enjoying it this year I plan to continue in 2017.

  2. My family is similar. We no longer exchange gifts or make a big production spending lots of money on Christmas. We do dinner, a Moravian service, maybe the Nutcracker or symphony and decorate a little. But it is mostly a time with family.
