Bent trees, an oasis, spring, space & time travel. March recap!

bent tree

Hard to believe March has drawn to a close.  The forest is now waking up and literally changing before our eyes on a daily basis.  April will be a fun photography month!

My absolute favorite tree on the property.  This is only the lower third.  I love how it bends out and again as it reaches for more sunlight.

Found this tree the other day.  Looks like nature’s bench.  Come sit awhile and enjoy watching spring emerge.

Speaking of spring, there has been an explosion of plant life, flowers, grasses, mayapples, grasses and more.

While hiking one day, I found this little oasis.  Nothing else was growing around this area at the time.

March has given us several days of beautiful blue skies!

As far as reading goes, I managed to complete 3 books for the month of March.  All of which I enjoyed very much.  (You didn’t really think I time traveled and went to space did you?)  🙂

  1. Moneyless Manifesto by Mark Boyle (304 pages).  Although I do not intend to live a completely moneyless life, many of his ideas are right in line with my way of thinking.  Interesting and thought provoking read.
  2. All Our Wrong Todays by Elan Mastai (369 pages).  Loved this novel!  Very interesting time traveling and futuristic novel.  It made me think about the way we live today.  I highly recommend this novel.
  3. Spaceman by Mike Massimino (313 pages).  Also loved this book!  A friend of ours recommended this one.  I have always been fascinated with space but this book brought that out in me even more.  Really enjoyed his description of seeing earth for the first time on his first space walk.  Also inspiring to see what he went through to become an astronaut.

I’ll leave you with this picture of our cute cat, Nugget.  He must think he is a dog because he loves to hike with us.  Crazy cat!

Oh and on the meditation front, I made it to 75 consecutive days and then missed 1 day.   I only beat myself up for a little bit and got right back to it the next day.  Currently, I am at 12 consecutive days.  Thanks again Insight Timer!
