Although I am not a person who is in hurry normally, I wanted to read this book to get an introduction into the realm of astrophysics. I absolutely adore space, the universe and of course science. This book was the perfect little appetizer. At 208 pages it is concise enough for even the busiest of people. Each chapter is chocked full of information broken down for us “average” people. 🙂
To be honest some chapters were of less interest to me than others. Some topics simply captured my attention more than others. However, I have to say the last two chapters were exceptionally good. With my mind captivated by his words and thoughts, I found myself plowing through the last few chapters. His knowledge, humor, and love for astrophysics brought this book to life for me. Having read this I now have a desire to learn so much more. My quest has begun for the next space/science book to read.
There is so much we do not know and yet so much we now have knowledge of. I only wish I could be around hundreds of years from now when hopefully humans are out exploring space and beyond much like Star Trek. To think of the discoveries we will make along the way.
This book is for anyone in a hurry or not, for those who have ever looked up into the night sky and pondered this vast universe and for those who simply want to learn a little more about the field of astrophysics. With Neil De Grasse Tyson as your guide, you will be glad you picked up this little gem.
