October Recap
October, a month of warm weather turned cold quickly. The beginning of the month I was in shorts and now it’s fire time! I do love the fall and the beautiful colors of the forest. A delicious plate of fruit goodness, part of our weekly Sunday brunch! Additional touches for The Shanty, solar lights and…

Weekly Photo Challenge – Security
While we were out and about today, I snapped this photo with my cell phone as we filled up our water jugs at the local spring. This photo represents security to me. Wide open spaces, very few people or buildings with sky, trees, green grass and a farmer’s field where food is grown. Everyone’s idea…

Hard to believe March has drawn to a close. The forest is now waking up and literally changing before our eyes on a daily basis. April will be a fun photography month! My absolute favorite tree on the property. This is only the lower third. I love how it bends out and again as it…

Weekly Photo Challenge – Half-Light
That time of day just before dusk, when light remains but darkness is near. The sunset view from our porch is blocked by many trees. I love our trees so I can deal with the missed sunsets. On this particular evening, the colors in the sky caught my eye. I loved the color effects on…

Weekly Photo Challenge – From Every Angle
The challenge: “This week, photograph a stationary subject from three different angles.” I have passed this tree many times while hiking our trails. Each time I stop and admire the plant wrapping itself around this small tree in order to obtain more light. Nature is awesome! While playing around with different angles, I noticed the…

Weekly Photo Challenge- Inspiration
This particular photo, taken at Yosemite National Park last summer, encompasses my inspirations all in one photo. I have always been inspired by water (rivers, lakes, streams, oceans, waterfalls), mountains, and remote natural places. Shane and I spent a few hours here. This spot was devoid of people and we loved every peaceful moment.
