February Recap in Photos: Sunshine, Water, Strawberries, and Alligators

Another month has come and gone, hard to believe it is March already. Our travels in Florida continued to treat us well for the month of February. Plenty of time spent on the water and enjoying that warm sunshine Florida is known for. I must admit there is no place I would rather be in the winter time.

Our Campsites for February

Two of our favorites. Flying Eagle (left picture) in Inverness and Gores Landing (right picture) near Silver Springs. Both provided plenty of boating opportunities. Yes we are officially boat obsessed. It is so much fun to spend time on the water on our Sea Eagle Paddle Ski. I truly love that our “boat” fits in the back of the Jeep or can be strapped to the top for short trips.

Boat Explorations

We hit up the Rainbow, Silver, and Ocklawaha Rivers along with Henderson Lake and logged a total of 105 miles. Plenty of wildlife was spotted along the way. Manatees, monkeys, alligators, birds, turtles, and river otters.

Riverside Enjoyment

During our stay at Gores Landing a dead tree had to be cut down (said tree in 1st picture). The day of the tree cutting we moved our RV and watched from a far as they made quick work of taking it down quite precisely.

RV Projects

Shane ordered and installed our swivel seat for the front. Now we have an extra seat that is quite comfy. Plus a new Max Air fan installation in the bathroom. Thanks to his brother Aaron for the free fan. And for those in the know, Max Air fans are not cheap!

Creative Activities

I love spending time on creative activities. Awhile ago I bought a mindfulness coloring book and finally got back to some coloring this month. It’s very relaxing and fun. Shane even joined in on one of the sessions. Candle making is another creative endeavor I truly enjoy. While it was colder I spent an evening making 14 candles. And my second bird painting was much better than my first.

We had cooler temps for a bit followed by warmer weather. I enjoy updating the board each day with the high/low temps. Today (March 6) our board says 85/63! Tried out some new restaurants and ate lots of in season Florida strawberries. Shane finally got his gator head! And we truly enjoyed meeting Tucker from Canada. He was such a sweetie!

That’s a wrap on February’s recap in photos.

Currently, we are in the Panhandle for a week on our way to New Orleans!
